Ottomaniac Birthdays

I'd like to keep track of all the Ottomaniac's birthdate's. Maybe at some point send out Happy B-Day cards and Chirstmas cards on an exchange list. If you would like to be included in the Ottomaniac's exchange list, please e-mail me at michelle@jamesottomaniac.com and put in the subject line "Ottomaniac Birthdate".

Well guys, here I am again. We have yet another storm headed our way and we just got finished trying to regroup from the last one not a week ago!! I'm so exhausted from running! It's FRIGGIN' ANNOYING! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I'll keep everyone in my prayers, and I pray that God keeps his shield around James, Vonna, Michelle, Team Otto, and the whole Otto Family (even IZZY)!

Sometimes the ONLY way that I can get my radio station to play James is through e-mail. I actually believe that I have gotten through to Jim King (95.1) once to play JGSLY. I was in a state of shock for a couple of minutes :) I haven't seen the "For You" video on the air yet.... What's up with that? I have also voted for James numerous times on CMT Power Picks. Keep waitin' to see him so I can stare at the T.V. for at least 3 and a half minutes :) Lol! OTTOMANIACS ROCK!!!!!!

I was able to introduce a friend to James' music over the weekend. She had never heard of him either and she listens to country music. As to requesting songs, when I do get a chance to call the radio stations I can never get through, the line is always busy!

I made a buddy of mine listen to James after she told me that she had never heard of him and when she heard the song she then says to me, "Oh I have heard this song before already." If only people knew how to put names with the voices that they hear a whole lot better. (shaking my head)

Correct and Correct
As much as we want all of James' music played, Amy is correct in the analogy that with JGSLY still getting plenty of airplay, they aren't going to play FY as much. For example the radio stations will not play 2 of his songs in, say a 2 hour period, but you might hear 2 Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Keith Urban songs in that time span. They are "known" artist and not "new" artists. Then Lana's correct too, we want everyone to know who James is! If I never hear "Who's James Otto?" again, it'll make me one happy Ottomaniac!

Requests
I think we should be requesting both songs because the more coverage he gets the better. Our radio station is so small that if we would focus on the one song then people are really going to get irritated at that specific song. I have heard people say that exact same thing. They hear a song too much and get really tired of it. I understand the concept of getting For You to be #1 but in the bigger picture we need to promote all of the songs that the radio station has of Mr. Ottos. On weekends I try to request one of his songs from his previous C.D. so that people get exposed to the full Otto effect. lanamiller68
Requesting "For You"
Right now, FY is #39 on Mediabase and #41 on R&R/Billboard. The R&R chart is updated on Wednesday. Over on the CMT site, there is a person named "Bill_Board" that is keeping us up to date and analyzing FY's climb on R&R/Billboard. It's really neat information so if you're interested, come on over an find the thread titled "For You on Billboard".
I really think we should be focusing on requesting "For You" to the radio stations. FY has just been hanging around #40 for several weeks. In fact, it hit #40 a few weeks ago and dropped a couple spots and it just now coming back up. So all of us Ottomaniacs need to be working hard to request FY on the radio! Since JGSLY has been hanging around on the recurrent chart, it's hindering FY from climbing. If JGSLY was allowed to be on the R&R chart yet today, it would still be in the top 20. That is a pretty cool thing, but it is the reason why FY is not climbing. Let's work more on requesting FY so it can make the climb to #1! I know everyone thinks it will make it to #1 so let's make it happen!!! ;o)

The chart is still updated on Wednesday though. The one that is there right now will be covered on the radio count down shows the weekend of September 13th-14th. (smiles)

Thats really strange because the one that I looked at this morning said it was updated on 9/5/08 and if I was looking at the correct calendar than that would have been Friday.

Your husband is finally starting to wear off on you. Actually after being around Jeremy I find myself calling Mr. Otto, Jim.
I worked a rodeo yesterday and went to the concession stand for lunch. Jeff and I were standing there listening to about five 60+ woman talk about how much they loved JGSLY. They all wondered what the man behind "the VOICE" looked like. Jeff spoke up and told the ladies I was someone who can answer that question. Being the Ottomanic I am the ladies and I stood around for half an hour discussing Mr. Otto. Jeff walked off headed for McDonalds because service was at an Otto stand still.
Calling Radio Stations!!!
I kind of have a calling schedule to the radio station. One morning I will call and request FY and in the afternoon request JGSLY. The next morning I just switch songs I request JGSLY in the morning and FY in the afternoon. Not for sure if they actually play it everytime because I can't listen to music at work. But it is an attempt to get his music out there. And it is pretty funny because I live in a small town and people know it is me requesting then I have the opportunity to talk to them face to face and I get to spread the Otto Love with them.
By the way just looked at the R&R (Radio and Records for those of you who don't look at it) that was issued 9/5/08 and JGSLY is now at #3 on the Country Recurrent Chart and FY is #41 on the Country National Airplay chart. By the way they update the R&R chart every Friday and it is an easy way to watch Jim on the charts. You can just google R&R and look up the country charts. It is another way to keep track of the shooting star that we know as Mr. Otto!!!!!!!

Top 40!!
I have the radio on, listening to Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40 and "For You" made it as number 40 this week!!!!!!!! We have to keep calling our radio stations so we can see FY go to #1!!!! After all, James IS #1 :)

I wish that I could have seen Diamond Rio in Rogersville that night. I have seen them three times already and have only gotten better with each time.
