MySpace helps James Otto know what his fans want-

Although James Otto's recent radio and sales success results in incredibly long hours, he still finds time to go online daily.

"MySpace has been my favorite place these days," he says. "Much to my wife's chagrin, I spend about an hour or more a day trying to read what everybody is sending me. I get more messages now a day than I used to in a month. I try to write back to fans and keep in touch with what everybody is thinking.

"It's been hugely beneficial to know what is on fans' minds and know what they thought of the show. It's really been one of the best tools given to artists these days to connect with their fans."

"Sunset Man" song...

Thank you for telling about what our beautiful James sings in his shows! I pray that the "Sunset Man" song is not forgotten about because I would love to hear him sing that one when I finally get to see him perform! I LOVE bluegrass flavored country music!!! (smiles)

Great time

Sorry I didn't say too much last night! It was like 3am when posted that and I was ready for bed! Needless to say I had a great time! I took tons of pics and getting to meet him and take a pic with him was awesome (see my new pic on here lol). I am trying to remember all the songs he did but I really can't remember all of them. I will take stab though: Ain't Gonna Stop, Just Got Started Loving You, For You, These are the Good Ole Days, You Don't Act Like My Woman, Drink and Dial, Damn Right, Long Way Down (from the first CD), a cover of Bob Segar's Night Moves (which rocked!) and he did this County Soul thing that was cool and a cover of Queen's Fat Bottomed Girls. Hope I don't get in trouble for telling all the songs he did lol! I think that's all but I am not swearing to it. It is always so cool to hear stories like this! Every time I go to our local store I'm checking out the "Otto" stock! It was sold out for a while, then they got a big shipment in (bigger than the first time -- must have realized it was in demand...duh!), then they sell out again...it's great!

I am very lucky to get to see James twice this summer.... does anyone.. or even James himself know the set list... I want to make sure I know every song..word for word by the time I see him. and to makes sure he is doing... The Man that I am... THAT SONG HAS TO BE A SINGLE....... He has the talent he will be on top for a long time.. I also have ordred his first cd.... I am sooooo looking forward to hearing that one.......

The first place that I went to for his album was K-Mart and I didn't even see it there, so Wal-Mart is where I got my copy and to me, I was NOT charged enough for it!!!

Sunset Man

I just wanted to tell Team Otto and James that I work at Wal-Mart in Silsbee, Tx. When Sunset Man was released 4/8/2008 we could not keep it on the shelves. We had people in line at midnight waiting to get their copy. We had never, NEVER had a sell like this before. Now today it had been almost a month since his album "Sunset Man" was released, and we still can't keep it on the shelves. I just wanted to make him and everyone that works with him very glad to be where they are at. I was actually quite lucky to retrieve my copy of "Sunset Man," and I am glad I did. I got it for my birthday 4/13/2008 and I am so greatful. Keep up the good work James, and I'm routing for you at #1!

It is so cool that James connects with his fans through myspace. I've actually gotten a few messages and a blog comment from him myself. No other musician has ever done that! He is one hell of a guy. (hot and sexy as hell too) :-)

When I was asking this question: How often does our guy come here? I was not meaning here in East Tennessee. LOL I was wanting to know how often does our guy come here to this official website of his since I happen to be all over it! LOL I am so sorry! (smiles)

I would love to see our guy play in the City of Hope softball game on June the 4th, but with the price of gas being what it is these days, I really don't know if I will be able to do all that much traveling this summer if any. I was at the City of Hope game back in 2000 and it was so much fun! So far I have only been to Fan Fair one time and it was the Fan Fair of that year.

I pray so hard that I get to see our guy some day soon! It is all up to the Lord though. (smiles)

Unfortunately there arent any shows booked for the Houston area at the moment. He just played Dallas and a radio show in Austin. The next Texas date is Marshall, TX on May 24th. Its a relatively long haul though. Keep checking the Tour Dates page, we're adding them as quickly as we can.

What about deep in the heart of Texas? We would love to have our guy and all of Team Otto in Texas. We are speaking like maybe around Houston??? There are numbers of us crazy rednecks that want to shout and raise hell with Otto and the OTTO SHOW! He's a great guy with a great sound. They say "Everything's Bigger In Texas," well in our guy's case... He should feel right at home! Us Texans have taste in country music and it's has James Otto written all over it.

Unfortunately, James doesnt have anything lined up for East Tennessee at the moment. We'll be sure to let you know if a show does pop up. In the mean time, James will be playing several shows in Nashville this summer if you're willing to make the 3 hour drive. (The good news is you gain an hour on the way out here :)

I think it is so cool to hear this from him -- he is so good to us by the way he keeps us updated on how things are going. How many other artists do you know that do this for their fans??? I know he has posted in his blog before that he does read all of his messages on MySpace and I just think that's awesome -- what a way to keep in touch with what our opinions are and what we're hearing from other people. James, you rock!!!
