Update From Team Otto

Update From Team Otto

Hi everyone, Team Otto here with a quick update on James.

*The Fox Business appearance that was supposed to happen this week was canceled due to the very bleak condition of Wall Street that day. We will notify you asap if we hear of a rebooking!

*The official radio add date for "These Are The Good Ole Days" is this Monday October 13. Many radio stations will not be playing it until next week, hence why they are still playing "For You." There are however, several radio stations that added it early. The ones that have are listed below:

WQYK/Tampa
KVOO/Tulsa
KUSS/San Diego

We ask that you please be patient! The WB Promotions Team is hard at work getting adds to the radio stations and to get James the airplay he deserves. We appreciate everything that you fans do to help promote James and his music. You are doing an absolute great job so please don't feel frustrated if it takes some time. Just be patient because everything will work out in the end.

Please feel free to private message Team Otto with any questions or concerns you have.

Thank you!

-Team Otto

Yes true...

Just hoping for a little more than that though! :)

James did get 30 seconds at the CMT awards, but that was it.

I pray that James is given more than that next month. (smiles)

God bless you and him always!!!

I hope...

I hope you guys are right because I definitely think he's due for a performance since he hasn't had one at any of the awards shows this year!

That is what I thought too, Michelle.

All five should get to sing something even if it is just a little bit. It shouldn't be just a few of them. That isn't fair. I pray that James is not overlooked.......again. (smiles)

God bless you and him always!!!

CMA Performaces

I thought that it was customary for the "new" artists all to perform.

~ Michelle ~

I pray that James is blessed with that CMA award too. (smiles)

I haven't been able to stop wondering what his chances for getting it are though when looking at who James is going against for it. I think that Rodney Atkins and Lady Antebellum are going to be his competition, but after what happened last year with Taylor Swift coming right out of nowhere and getting it, Jason Aldean and Kelli Pickler could do that just like she did.

So far right now, Rodney, Kelli, and Lady Antebellum are the only ones of the five who are lined up to sing at the show. If getting the award can not happen for James, at least have him sing on the show too because then that would be more exposure for him anyways and if that award doesn't go to him, oh what a stir that may create after what we know would be a butt kicking performance from him. Make the powers that be wish that they had voted for James. (smiles)

God bless you and him always!!!

CMA . . .

awards are fast approaching and I'm jumpy and don't even have a stake in the show. LOL Oh how I hope James gets that award!!

Time for James to climb them charts again to #1!!! (smiles)

WFMS

Yes they won again and rightfully so. They are a fabulous radio station with fabulous radio personalities! They deserve the nod! Our nomination contained a radio personality that they station chose to fire before his contract was up....well, don't get me started there!

As far as Vonna's clarification, kudos for the education! You put things wonderfully. I've been told that if James were a "Garth" or a "Alan" or a "Reba", then they might play his songs on the morning show. With it being a new release and a new artist, they will only play his current single.

I personally don't think that all the radio stations had the release yet. After all, Team Otto did make a post about it. So, I wouldn't get too worked up over why they aren't all playing it yet.

~ Michelle ~

Thank you for answering me and for putting up with me. (smiles)

I just don't want anyone to miss out on having the opportunity to hear and see James because if they do, then they have missed out on a lot! (smiles)

God bless you and James always!!!

Clarification........

Holly,

I am not exactly sure who you are referencing to laughing, I assume since I posted a playful jab at Cincy (and Michelle) you were referring to me. So, I will say this, on any given day there can be upwards to 50+ "New Release" tunes going out to the PDs at the radio stations. There are more record labels out there than you may know of because there have been independent ones popping up all over the place.

Also, for the most part numerous stations have a test segment, where they have the listeners "Smash or Trash" the tune. This helps in deciding what is played as well as other factors. A lot of DJs are not allowed to play what they want, that is dictated by the radio bigwigs, and in most cases the PDs don't even have control.

There are pressures to play the familiar hot stars, because they are the ones people request the most, and they are a guarantee for the program to garner the highest ratings.

Basically, the reality is not every single release is going to get spins, it depends on many different variables that we, as fans have no control over. We need to keep working hard to get James' name out there and promote as only Ottomaniacs can do because it does matter that we show him we love and support him no matter what.

Adding a little light humor to the situation can get you through the frustration at times. It doesn't take away the desire to hear James' music each and every time I turn on the radio, nor does it lessen my love and support of "The Biggest Voice in Country Music".

I hope this assists you in understanding why they can't play each and every single that is released.

Not to be mean, but I don't see that as something to laugh at.

Please forgive me if this ends up being a naive and innocent way of thinking and I really do not mean to sound so serious, but if all radio stations started playing new songs on the official release day of the songs if not before then, that would be one less problem for everyone else to deal with. (smiles)

They have to be played at some point, so I will never get why there has to be a wait. If it is okay to ask, what would the radio stations be losing by not waiting? Those who have been around longer are more well known enough than those who are new, so between the two of them, who needs time on the radio more? My answer: We need to make sure that a new generation can exist because the earlier ones, unfortunately in a way, can not last forever, with all due respect of course. If some are not good enough to be on the radio, why are they signed to make music to begin with in the first place? (smiles)

Okay, I'll shut up now! I'm done. (laughs) I'm sorry! I just had to ask. Please do not be mad at me for doing so! (smiles)

God bless you and James always!!!

Yay!

Glad to hear that Cincy is up to date now with TATGOD!!! Ya know they are always behind Indy in the new and sensational things! HA! HA!

Update from Cincinnati...

I spoke to our B105 night time DJ, Jesse Tack and he confirmed that TATGOD has been added and is being played. He has a "test track" segment on his show that they "test" new releases and then get feedback, good and bad. He said that he tested it ad it was all good!

So, we're off and running in Cincinnati! Let's get the gears rollin' again!

~ Michelle ~

Mama!

Have you ever met Mrs. A!! I'm sure that it being played in Jackson has alot to do with that woman! I don't think that she takes "no" for an answer!

~ Michelle ~

hearing TATGOD on 106.9 Jackson, TN

Hey y'all!!! Just wanted to let you know TATGOD is being played on 106.9 out of Jackson, TN......that's where Amy is from...maybe that has something to do with it?????? Whatever it takes!! Jeri Anne

I've found a review about "Sunset Man" being in that film!

I told James not to make the first move when dealing with Kix and Ronnie!!! (laughing)

Now they will definitely be going after him now!!! (shaking my head) You can't say that I didn't warn him! (smiles)

Anyways, go here for that review:

http://blogcritics.org/archives/2008/10/11/125309.php

Its about "Sunset Man" being in that Sister Hood of the Traveling Pants 2 film. Feel free to throw in your two cents like I did at the bottom of the page if you do not agree with what is said about the song being in there. My message has already been responded to. (smiles)

God bless you and James and Kix and Ronnie always!!!

Brooks and Dunn

I was just on B&D website and saw the new B&D TV (it is also on YouTube). If you all haven't seen it tune in, it is wonderful. James tries so hard to get one over on B&D. Even Miss Izzy is in this one.

Sold Out!

The Radio Station had on their website that it is sold out! I guess I will just have to try and win some or try to buy some the night of the show. Bummer. We went to see Sugarland and Zac Brown last night at the SC State fair. They were both great but I would still rather be at a Otto Show.

Aiken SC

OMG I am so happy that James is going to be in Aiken November 18th . That is my Birthday! Aiken is only about an hour from where I live. That would be the best present that I could get. I had been watching his tour dates and had not seen him around here anymore this year! I'm so happy!!! Thanks for the info Dawn!!!!!

Patti

Duh...the link! LOL!

Actually I have seen him 5

Actually I have seen him 5 times all together. Several years ago I met him for the first time in Ohio with the MuzikMafia and Hank Williams Jr. show in Columbus. So I am a 5 timer. :) And I could have seen him this last week in Bloomington, but I was helping out a friend.

Keep on Keep'n on!

I have been so lucky this year...

I can't believe how lucky I have been this year when it comes to seeing James. I need to retake the poll! LOL! I first seen him here in Springfield back in May then I had seen him in Memphis in June, Cleveland in September and next month in Aiken South Carolina. I'll be a four timer! Kicks 99 is holding the event. Check out this link. They list James as the first artist. Click on his link. They have a whole page of bio on him.

"These Are The Good Ole Days"

I have nothing better to do Monday than to bug the crap out of the radio stations. Unemployment can be great sometimes! =P

Also a new blog message about him has been left over at the CMT website. (smiles)

I am also proud to say that 107.7 WIVK in Knoxville was named CMA Medium Market Station of the Year today and Andy & Alison and the Morning Crew of WIVK were named Medium Market Radio Personality of the Year as well too! They are the ones who let me talk to James on August 28th. (smiles)

God bless you and them and James the rest of WIVK always!!!

P.S. "For You" was just played on 96.9 WXBQ out of Bristol, TN. (smiles)

The video for the song went from #4 to #10 this week on the CMT Pure Country Top 12 and for its second week on the GAC Top 20, it stays at #5. (smiles)

Yeah!!!

I am glad that you look at it as making progress, that is the first step to No. 1 hit!!!! Progress is wonderful.

KVOO

Well I finally got through to the radio station here, And requested TATGOD. My dj sounded a little surprised but told me they would try to put it on... I listened for two hours and they never did play it.. but that's ok.. I'm just gonna keep bugging them. At least they didn't try to tell me they didn't have it or that For You was the latest..So I look at it as progress.

**~Sandy~**

You are so welcome! (smiles)

I actually wouldn't have known about it either had it not been for another one of my online buddies. They ran across it and knew exactly what to do next. (smiles)

God bless you and them and James always!!!

Holly in East Tennessee

P.S. I pray that James is able to be on that Fox Business Network station at some point eventually. I hate it for him that his appearance on the show didn't happen like it was supposed to for him. I get why it was delayed, but that right there is why I think that anything involving James is so important. In the world that we live in, there is a LOT of bad definitely (especially in Knoxville these days), but thanks to James, there is still some beautiful good too. (smiles)

I just wish that I could have been able to see him on the Imus show, but I don't get the station that it is on, so I missed it all. Is there a place that we can go to online to see it at all any?

Thanks again for sharing Holly!

Loved the link to the clip on People.com...I probably wouldn't have found that one! It is good that James is appearing everywhere lately - that way more people can "discover" him!
~ Jean ~

OK....

I'll give them a break until next week! After that.....game on!

Thanks for the update!
